A choir app in your language: cori now comes in 17 languages

Choirs are as different as the people who sing in them. Some rehearse in a single language in their own town, others bring together people from many countries, where several languages sit side by side at the same music stand. What connects them all is the music – not English. Software, on the other hand, almost always turns up in English, and for part of your choir that puts up the first hurdle before a single note has even been sung.

That's exactly the hurdle we're removing now: the choir app cori is available in 17 languages from today. The app and the website, every button, every explanation, every exercise – in the language your choir is at home in.

Ukrainian was particularly important to us. Many choirs now include people who had to leave their home country – and a choir is often one of the first places where you arrive somewhere again. That the app this choir organises itself with is also available in Ukrainian should go without saying.

Why a multilingual choir app makes the difference

A tool that half the choir doesn't understand isn't a tool, it's another building site. In practice that hits exactly the choirs we most like to help the hardest:

• Church and parish choirs, where many long-standing members sing for whom English was never a given.
• School and youth choirs, where children are far more likely to use an app in their own language on their own.
• Project and integration choirs, where people from different countries come together.

Help us make cori even better in your language

Language lives on nuance, and no text is ever entirely finished – especially in an app that keeps getting new features. So this is a point where we're particularly keen to listen.

How to pick your language

You don't have to set anything up or unlock anything. Depending on where you are, you'll find the language selection in one of these places:

• On the website: via the globe icon 🌐, at the top or bottom of the page.
• In the web app: in your profile settings.
• In the mobile app: in the Settings tab (the gear icon ⚙️).

Choose a language – done. If you're signed in, cori remembers your choice and shows you the app in the same language on all your devices.

One important note: this is about the language of the app itself – the menus, buttons and explanations. Your own content is untouched by it: your sheet music, your recordings, your lyrics and messages belong to you and appear exactly as you entered them. So a German choir rehearsing an Italian piece stays exactly the choir it is, in every language.

Frequently asked questions about the language selection

Which languages does cori come in? cori is available in 17 languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Estonian, Portuguese (Brazil), Indonesian and Ukrainian.

Can I switch the language at any time? Yes. Just tap the globe icon in the app or on the website and choose a different language. If you're signed in, the choice applies on all your devices.

Does the language selection also change my sheet music and lyrics? No. The language selection only affects cori's interface. Your content – sheet music, recordings, lyrics and messages – stays unchanged.

My language is missing or a translation is wrong – what do I do? Write to us at info@getcori.app. We're glad to get every report of a mistake and every request for more languages.

If you already use cori, update the app – the new languages will show up automatically in the language menu. If you're new:
