Creating a song with the AudioEditor

The AudioEditor is a multi-track studio built right into the cori mobile app. With it you can record each voice part, drop in backing tracks, trim and arrange the takes on a timeline, and mix everything into a finished practice song — all without leaving your phone or tablet.

Already have recordings?

If you already have finished voice recordings, there's no need to re-record — you can upload them directly instead, see Creating a song from prerecorded audio. The AudioEditor also lets you import audio and MIDI files, and a song can just as well contain only the sheet music (PDF) — no recordings at all.

Mobile only

The AudioEditor lives in the iOS and Android apps. You won't find it in the browser, so reach for your phone or tablet when you want to record and edit a song.

Open the AudioEditor

Start creating a new song in the app, then on the first step tap Audio Editor to open the studio. (From the backing-and-voices step you can also tap Record to jump straight in.) A short loading screen prepares the audio engine before the timeline appears.

Mix the voices

Finish and save

When you're happy, tap Finish at the top left. cori asks Save changes? — choose Save to render the tracks (and extract the notes for sing-along feedback) or Discard to leave them as they are. Back in the song creator, continue through the remaining steps to publish the song to your choir.
