Buying tickets

Buying tickets through cori Tickets: choosing seats, the reservation window, paying — and how and when your tickets reach you.
Web only

The ticket shop runs in your browser at tickets.cori.music — on a phone just as well as on a computer. You don't need an app or an account.

You've been sent a link to an event and you'd like to buy tickets. It takes a couple of minutes and needs neither an account nor an app — just an email address for your tickets to be sent to.

Who are you actually buying from?

The contract is between you and the organizer — the choir, the association or the orchestra named on the page under "Sold by …". cori Tickets only provides the shop and processes the payment on their behalf. So for questions about the event, about refunds or about cancellations, the organizer is the right person to ask; their contact details are on the same page.

How the purchase works

1
Choose your tickets

Without a seat map, you pick a quantity per category. If there is a seat map, you tap your seats directly on it — available seats are coloured, sold and currently reserved ones are blocked. Tap a seat to see its category, price and notes such as "Restricted view" or "Wheelchair space".

2
The reservation starts with your first click

As soon as you select seats, they're reserved for you. The clock runs above the continue button: "Reserved — held for mm:ss".

3
Redeem a promo code (if you have one)

Under "Have a promo code?" you type it in and tap Apply. The discount appears in the summary straight away.

4
Continue to secure checkout

Here you enter your email address — that's where the tickets and receipt go — and pay.

5
Confirmation

After payment the page says "Payment received — your tickets are on their way by email." That completes the purchase.

The reservation window

Your seats are reserved for 10 minutes from the moment you select them. For events in very high demand, the organizer can shorten that to 5 minutes — the clock on screen always shows what actually applies.

If the time runs out before you've paid, your selection is cleared and the seats go back on sale. The screen shows: "Your reservation expired — please select your seats again." Nothing has been charged in that case.

Once you're at checkout, things won't get tight

As soon as you've started paying, cori Tickets automatically extends your reservation so it outlasts the payment process — you won't get thrown out in the middle of a card payment. The text above the payment field tells you how much time is left.

So only select your seats once you're ready to pay. And don't worry if you abandon the purchase: reserved seats free themselves up again, you don't need to cancel anything.

Paying

Payment runs through Stripe; cori Tickets never sees your card details. Which payment methods are offered depends on the event and on your country — you'll see them at checkout.

Before you place your order, you accept the terms of use, the privacy policy and, if the organizer has added their own terms and conditions, those as well. The payment button is clearly labelled: "Order now for <amount>".

No 14-day right of withdrawal

Tickets for an event on a specific date are exempt from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (§312g(2) no. 9 BGB). Your order is binding once you place it. Whether the organizer refunds anyway is up to them — their refund policy is shown directly above the payment button.

What you pay is the final price. The price on each ticket is already the amount that will be charged to you — including VAT and including any booking fee the organizer passes on. That's why the summary only shows a subtotal, any discount and the total; no fee is added on top as a surprise at checkout. It is itemised later on the invoice and the ticket as a "Booking fee".

When it's free

If the order costs nothing — a complimentary ticket, or a promo code that brings it down to zero — you don't need payment details. In that case there's just a field for your email address and the button "Order now — free".

How you get your tickets

The standard is the e-ticket: shortly after payment, an email arrives with your tickets attached as PDFs — one PDF per ticket, each with its own QR code. If the order costs something, the organizer's invoice is attached as well.

At the door you show the QR code: printed out or straight from your phone screen, both work. There is no Apple or Google wallet pass.

If the organizer offers several delivery methods, checkout asks: "How would you like your ticket?"

  • E-ticket by email (PDF) — as described above.
  • Collect at the box office — you pay online now and get your printed ticket at the venue. In that case no PDF arrives by email, only a confirmation. Bring your order reference.
The email isn't instant — and sometimes lands in spam

It can take a moment after payment. If the page says "Payment is being processed", everything is fine: the tickets arrive as soon as the payment is confirmed. Check your spam folder too. And if it doesn't arrive at all, you can have the link sent to you again at any time — see Finding your tickets again.

Common stumbling blocks

  • "Ticket sales open on …" — The page is already online, but the presale starts later. Come back at the time given.
  • "Ticket sales for this event have closed." — The presale is over. Only the organizer knows whether there will be tickets at the box office.
  • "That seat is no longer available" — Someone was a second faster. Pick another seat.
  • "Max N per order" — The organizer limits how many tickets of one category a single order may contain. For more tickets, place a second order.
  • "Bring proof of eligibility" — You've chosen a concession fare. Bring the matching ID, otherwise the door staff may refuse the discount.
  • Being asked for a name per ticket? Some events are personalised. The name is printed on the ticket.
Which language do your documents arrive in?

The confirmation email, tickets and invoice are sent in the language set at the top of the shop page. Change it before you pay if you need your documents in a different language.
