XP, levels and ranks

How you collect experience points in cori, move up and what the ranks mean.

Web + app

Every exercise on the learning path earns you experience points (XP). Enough XP lifts you to the next level, and several levels together make up a rank – from Novice to Maestro. Your progress is personal and counts across all of your choirs.

On both platforms, with one shared state

XP, levels and ranks come from the learning path – in the browser just as in the app. Your progress is attached to your account, not to the device: what you collect in the browser you'll find again in the app and vice versa.

What earns you XP

For every completed practice round, cori puts together several bonuses:

  • Round completed – the base points for every round you finish
  • First time bonus – when you clear an exercise for the first time with at least one star
  • New stars – for every star you gain on top of your previous best
  • Perfect! – for a particularly clean round
  • Flawless! – for a rhythm round without a single slip
  • Challenge bonus – when the round counts towards a running challenge

Skipping a section with a placement test earns you a bigger one-off portion of XP ("Test passed").

Levels and ranks

Early levels come quickly, later ones need more practice: each level asks for a little more XP than the one before. Your current level, your total XP and the way to the next level are shown in the browser under Progress & badges and in the app under Your Training ("X XP to level Y").

Six ranks bundle the levels:

Rankfrom level
Novice1
Apprentice5
Journeyer10
Adept20
Virtuoso35
Maestro50
A rank is decoration, not an obligation

A rank is pure recognition – it doesn't unlock anything and doesn't lock anything. All exercises stay accessible to everyone at all times.

Where you can see your progress

Web app
Your level and XP bar sit right above the learning path; the “Progress & badges” button leads to the explainer page with level, rank ladder and badge collection. Your streak has its own page.
Mobile app
Open “Your Training” from the home screen or via the level badge on the learning path. Level, rank and XP are at the very top; below that come streak, streak shields and the choir board.

In the choir board you can compare your level with your choir's.
