I can't get into my account

The most common sign-in problems in cori — wrong password, an account created with Google or Apple, a typo in the address — and how to work through them one by one.

Web + app

You enter your email and password, but cori won't let you in? Usually one of just a few causes is behind it. The quickest way forward is to look at the error message cori shows under the field — it tells you what's going on. This guide works through the cases in the order that solves most problems.

Sign in first, don't register again

You always sign in with the same email address you used to create your account — whether on the web or in the app. There is no confirmation email you'd have to open first: a cori account is active the moment it's created. So if you're waiting for a confirmation email, you're waiting in vain — try the steps below instead.

"Incorrect email address and/or password"

If cori shows this message, the combination of address and password doesn't match. That's the most common case — and the message doesn't tell you which of the two is wrong.

1
Check the address carefully

If cori suggests a correction while you're typing the address (e.g. "gmail.com" instead of "gmial.com"), accept it. A typo in the address points to a completely different account.

2
Set a new password

If you can't remember your password, tap Forgot your password? below the password field. cori sends you an email with a link to reset it. After that you sign in with the new password.

The reset process is described in detail under Resetting your password.

"Please sign in with: Google" or "… Apple"

This message means: you created your account with Google or Apple back then and never set a password of your own. So there simply is no password for this account — which is why a password won't get you anywhere here.

  • Instead, tap the Continue with Google or Continue with Apple button (on the web below the "or" divider, in the app below the continue button).
  • Use exactly the Google or Apple account whose address cori is showing you.
Can't remember how you signed up?

Enter your email address and tap Continue. cori then checks which sign-in method belongs to that address and shows you either the password field or the note "Please sign in with: …". That way you find the right route without guessing.

"Invalid email address"

This message appears when the address you entered isn't in the format of an email address at all — on the web as "Invalid email address", in the app as "Invalid email".

Check for a missing @ sign, a duplicated character, or a space at the start or end. Upper and lower case make no difference in an address.

It can be the account — not you

Not every sign-in problem can be read off an error message:

  • No account under that address: Perhaps you registered with a different address (a personal one instead of a work one, say). Work through your other addresses.
  • You were only invited but never created an account: An invitation link does take you into cori, but you still need an account of your own. How to create one is described under Creating an account.

When you need support

Get in touch with support if

  • resetting your password doesn't produce an email (check your spam folder too),
  • you're sure you're using the right address and the right password and still see "Incorrect email address and/or password",
  • or you no longer have access to your account's email address.

It's best to mention exactly which error message you're seeing and whether you're on the web or in the app — that saves a follow-up question.
