The invitation link doesn't work
Why cori rejects a join link — expired, copied incompletely or you're already in — and how the choir leadership quickly provides a valid one.
Web + app
You've been sent a link to join, but cori won't let you into the choir? Almost always the message on screen tells you exactly what's wrong. This guide matches each message to its cause — and in many cases it isn't down to you at all, but to the link itself.
An invitation link takes you to the join screen, but you still need a cori account of your own and you have to be signed in. If you aren't signed in yet, sign in or create an account first and then open the link again. While joining you also pick your voice — you can't continue without one (cori then points out “Choose your voice!”).
“Invitation Not Found”
If cori shows “Invitation Not Found” with the note “Your invitation does not exist!”, then no choir is waiting behind that link. This usually has one of these causes:
A valid link looks like this: https://cori.music/invite?inviteId=…. If it has been forwarded through a
chat, it's sometimes cut off or has extra text attached. It's best to have the link sent to you again
and open it by tapping it directly rather than typing it out.
If you're pasting the link by hand (in the app under Join Choir into the
Invitation Link field), make sure the complete address is in there — including the
part after inviteId=. Without that part, cori can't find a choir.
Each choir has exactly one invitation link. If the choir leadership has generated a new one, the old link becomes invalid. In that case, ask for the current link.
“Invitation Expired”
The message “Invitation Expired” — “Unfortunately, your invitation has already expired!” means that an expiry date was set for this link and it lies in the past. That is not your fault.
An invitation link doesn't expire by itself — it only lapses if the choir leadership switched on an expiry date when creating it. Get in touch with the person who invited you and ask for a fresh link. They can do that in a matter of seconds (see below).
“Already Joined”
If it says “Already Joined” with “You have already joined this choir!”, everything is fine — you're a member already. There's nothing to do.
If you then can't find the choir in your list, you may be signed in with a different account than the one you first joined with. Check which email address you're logged in with.
For the choir leadership: providing a valid link
Only the choir leadership and admins can generate and share an invitation link. If a link has expired or no longer works:
- Open your choir's invitation area and share the existing link again — it stays the same per choir as long as you don't replace it.
- If an expiry date is active and has already passed, switch it off with the Expiry Date toggle or set a new date in the future. That makes the link valid again.
- When you switch on an expiry date, cori suggests two weeks by default — you can adjust the date freely.
The full guide to creating and sharing links is under Inviting members.
When you need support
If the link is demonstrably complete and not expired and you still see “An error occurred while validating the invitation!”, get in touch with support. Tell them exactly which message appears and whether you're on the web or in the app.
