Refer choirs and earn a bonus
How the referral program works: where your code lives, what both choirs get, which conditions apply and when the bonus counts.

Every choir in cori has its own referral code. If a newly founded choir enters your code, both sides benefit in the end: the new choir straight away with a longer trial, and your choir with a free month — as soon as the referred choir actually pays.
The referral program is for the choir director and admins. Members without those rights can't look up their choir's code.
Where your referral code lives
The code is made up of eight uppercase letters and digits. cori deliberately avoids easily confused characters — no I, O, S or Z, and no 0, 1, 2 or 5. So not much can go wrong when you dictate it over the phone. The code is created when the choir is set up and never changes after that.
There are two ways to pass it on:
- Copy Code and paste it into an email or message
- Share Invitation or Share Referral Link — that creates a link with the code already baked in
Anyone who opens the referral link and signs up lands straight in the dialog for creating a choir — with your code already in the field. That's the most reliable option, because the code can't be forgotten or mistyped that way.
How the other choir redeems the code
The code is only ever entered while creating a new choir — in the “Referral Code (optional)” field below the name and description. Capitalisation doesn't matter; cori converts your input to uppercase automatically.
If the code doesn't match an existing choir, cori reports “Referral code not found” and the choir isn't created. If the code isn't eight characters long, the input field points that out beforehand.
There's nowhere to enter a referral code later on. Once a choir has been created without a code, the referral is lost for good — for you as the referring choir too. So pass the code on before the other choir is founded.
What each side gets
The referred choir
30 extra trial days. They're added on top of the regular trial when the choir takes out an annual subscription. The extension doesn't apply to a monthly subscription.
Your choir
One free month per successful referral. How it's credited depends on where your choir stands right now:
- You're still in the trial: when you take out an annual subscription, cori extends your trial by 30 days for each completed referral.
- Your choir already pays: cori credits your account with €1 per member of your choir, which is set off against your next invoice. That's exactly one month at the annual subscription price. A choir with 30 members saves €30 that way.
When the bonus counts
A referral passes through four possible states, which you can see in the list below your code:

| Not yet subscribed | The choir was created with your code but hasn't taken out a subscription yet. |
| Awaiting payment | The subscription is running, but the first payment hasn't arrived yet. |
| +1 month | The payment has arrived and your bonus is credited. |
| Not eligible | The conditions weren't met at the time of payment. |
What counts is the moment the referred choir pays its first invoice. That's when cori checks the condition — and the condition is: at least five members in the referred choir. If it has fewer at that point, the referral is marked “Not eligible” and stays that way even if the choir grows later.
Between the choir being created and your free month lies at least the other choir's trial period. So the referral program isn't something for this month's quick sums — it's something that builds up over a few weeks.
If your choir was referred
If someone referred you, the Referred by section at the bottom of the same page shows the referring choir's name. The bonus also appears as a note on the trial in the subscription overview — the line “(+30 trial days from referral)” tells you it really was applied.
