Sharing annotations with your choir
Choose who sees the notes you make on your sheet music — just you, your section or the whole choir — and decide which layers are shown to you.
App only
Notes on your sheet music don't have to stay with you. In the cori app you decide for every annotation who sees it: only you, your voice part or the whole choir. That way the choir leadership can record entries and dynamics for everyone, and you still keep your own scribbles private. This guide shows how sharing works and who is allowed to do what.
- Private — anyone can; only you see these notes.
- Section — choir leadership and admins always; members only if the choir setting for it is switched on (see below), and even then only within their own section.
- Whole choir — choir leadership and admins only.
The choir setting for sharing
Whether members may share within their section at all is up to the choir leadership, in Choir settings with the Members can share annotations with their section toggle. If it's off, members can only make private notes. Choir-wide sharing stays reserved for the choir leadership and admins in any case.
If section sharing hasn't been enabled, cori shows the hint “Ask a manager to enable section sharing for members.” when you try.
Choosing the layer while you draw
When you draw on the sheet music, the bar asks under Where should your notes go? who the annotation should apply to:
- Private — only you see these annotations.
- Section — visible to everyone in your voice. As a member you can share here with your exact section or with your whole voice family.
- Whole choir — visible to every member of the choir.

Show or hide
With the Notes: toggle you set which layers appear on top of your sheet music — show all, hide all, or switch Private, Section and Choir individually. This only changes your view, not what others see.
In the browser you can view shared annotations and show or hide them via “Notes:”. Drawing and sharing, on the other hand, only work in the app.
Who can remove shared annotations
You can only ever delete annotations on the layer you're currently allowed to draw on. If you try to erase someone else's annotations, cori reports “These annotations belong to …” and offers Switch. So a member cannot remove choir-wide annotations made by the choir leadership.
