Automatic attendance
Preset how members respond to new appointments by default — accept, decline or uncertain — as a choir setting or per appointment.
Web + app
In some choirs nearly everyone is at rehearsal anyway — so there's no point in making everyone confirm by hand for every single appointment. With automatic attendance you decide how new appointments start out for your members: as accepted, as declined, or with no default at all. Anyone who wants to give a different answer can still do so at any time.
The default is part of the choir settings and is changed by the choir director or an admin. It's available on the web and in the mobile app.
The three modes
The "Default appointment confirmation" setting offers three options:
- Accept — every member automatically counts as attending for new appointments.
- Decline — every member automatically counts as not attending.
- Uncertain — there's no default; every member answers for themselves.
The default is only a starting value. As soon as a member accepts or declines themselves, their own answer applies — the default never overwrites it.
Setting the choir setting
Open Choir settings and look for Default appointment confirmation ("Default attendance response for new appointments"). Pick one of the three modes. From then on the setting applies to newly created appointments; existing appointments stay as they are.
Presetting individual appointments differently
You don't have to commit to the same thing for every appointment. In the appointment form — as long as Record attendance is switched on — there's a Default attendance field. It's set to "Use choir setting" (with the current choir setting in brackets) and can be switched to Accept, Uncertain or Decline for this one appointment.
Is your choir set to "Accept" by default, but you're planning an optional extra appointment? Then set the default attendance to "Uncertain" for that one appointment, so everyone responds deliberately.
