Installing the cori app

Download cori for iOS and Android, sign in and grant the permissions it needs.
App only

This guide covers the mobile app for iPhone and Android.

You can get the cori app for free from the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or from Google Play (Android). The app holds all the practice features — sing-along, sheet music annotations, metronome and piano right in the score — that the browser doesn't have. This guide shows you how to install it, sign in and get the app ready to go.

What you need

An iPhone or iPad running iOS 16.4 or newer, or an Android device running Android 7.0 or newer. You don't need a cori account beforehand — you can create one the first time you open the app.

How to install cori

Open the store

The quickest way is via cori.music/download: the link recognises your device and takes you straight to the right store. Alternatively, search the App Store or Google Play directly for “cori”.

Download the app

Tap Get or Install and wait for the download to finish.

Open it and sign in

Start the app. First there's a short introduction, then you sign in or create a new account — with your email address or via Google or Apple. Exactly how that works is described under Creating an account and signing in.

Allow notifications

Finally, cori asks whether you'd like to receive notifications — for rehearsal dates and messages, for example. Tap the tick to allow them, or the cross to skip. You can change this at any time later in the settings.

Permissions

cori only asks for permissions when a feature genuinely needs them — not all at once at startup:

  • Notifications are requested during setup (see above) so that you get appointment reminders and new messages.
  • The microphone is only unlocked the first time you record something with sound — in the sing-along or in the audio analysis, for instance. Without microphone access, these recording features don't work.

If you accidentally denied a permission, you can re-enable it under cori in your device's system settings.

Keeping the app up to date

Updates arrive via the App Store or Google Play. Leave automatic updates switched on and cori stays up to date by itself. If a feature behaves oddly, it's worth checking first whether an update is waiting in the store.
