Installing cori in your browser (PWA)
Install the web app as a standalone window on your desktop or tablet — with its own icon and no address bar.

cori in the browser is a progressive web app: you can install it on your computer or tablet just like a program. After that cori opens in a window of its own without an address or tab bar, gets its own icon and starts with a single click — no app store involved. This guide shows you how it works and what you get out of it.
The installed web app behaves like a normal program: its own window, its own icon in the dock or taskbar, no hunting for a browser tab. It's most useful on the desktop and on tablets. On a phone you're better served by the cori app — it can do more than the browser.
How to install the web app
The exact route depends on your browser:
Sign in at cori.music as usual so that you're inside the app.
In Chrome and Edge an install icon appears at the right-hand end of the address bar; alternatively you'll find “Install app” in the browser menu (⋮). In Safari on the Mac, open File › Add to Dock; on the iPad, open the share menu and then Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the name — cori creates the icon and the shortcut and will open in its own window from now on.
If your browser doesn't offer to install it, it doesn't support installation here. It works most reliably with Chrome and Edge. Firefox doesn't offer web app installation on the desktop — there you simply use cori in a normal tab; you won't be missing any features.
What the installed app gives you — and what it doesn't
- Its own window and icon, launching without the detour through the browser.
- It still runs on the browser underneath, so it shares your sign-in and data with the normal tab. Sign in on one and you're signed in on the other too.
- Installing does not make cori offline-capable in the way the mobile app is. The web app loads its content live from the server; without a connection it stays limited. What works offline and what doesn't is described under Using cori without internet.
Uninstalling again
To remove it, open the installed cori app and choose uninstall in the window menu (Chrome/Edge: via the ⋮ menu in the app window), or remove the icon like any normal program. Your account and your choirs are unaffected — you can open cori in your browser again at any time.
