Playback settings

The app remembers a few defaults for playback so you don't have to set everything up again for every song. You decide which voices you hear by default, how the next button behaves, and whether the mixer spreads the voices across the stereo image. These settings live in the mobile app.

Voice Playback

The Voice Playback control decides which voices you hear when you open a song — "Choose which voices to play during playback". Your options are:

• All Voices — every voice equally loud.
• Own Voice — only your own voice part.
• Own Voice Louder — every voice, but yours brought forward.

That's just the default; in the mixer of an open song you can adjust the balance by hand at any time. Mixing voices and stereo panning shows how.

Jump to bookmark

The Jump to bookmark instead of previous/next song switch changes what the player's previous and next buttons do: instead of moving to the previous or next song in the setlist, they jump to the jump marks within the same song. Handy when you're navigating repeats and entries in a long piece. You place jump marks on the sheet music — see Annotating sheet music.

Stereo panning in the mixer

The Enable stereo panning of voices in mixer switch spreads the voices across the stereo image so they're easier to tell apart by ear. With it off, every voice sits in the centre. What you can do with it in the mixer is covered in Mixing voices and stereo panning.
