Setting up push notifications

Decide in the app what cori tells you about — messages, new songs, appointments, appointment reminders and practice reminders.
App only

Push notifications are only available in the phone app.

So you don't miss anything, the cori app sends push notifications to your phone — for a new message, a new song or a changed appointment, say. Which of them actually reach you is up to you. This guide shows how to allow notifications and switch the individual types on and off.

App only

Push notifications only exist in the phone app. The web app at cori.music doesn't send push messages. For the emails cori also sends, see Email notifications.

Allowing notifications

1
Open the settings

In the app, go to SettingsNotifications.

2
Turn on the main switch

Turn on "Notifications" right at the top. The first time, your phone asks whether cori may send you alerts — confirm that. Without this permission, no notifications will arrive.

Declined by accident?

Once you've declined the system prompt, your phone won't ask again. cori then takes you straight to your device's system settings — allow alerts for cori by hand there, then switch the main switch back on.

Controlling the individual types

With the main switch on, you can toggle each kind of reminder below it separately:

  • Appointment reminders — a reminder shortly before an appointment. How long before is set right underneath ("… hour(s) before start"). This notification comes with quick buttons for accepting or declining (see below).
  • Practice Reminder — a daily reminder at a time of your choosing, if you haven't practised yet that day.
  • Challenge notifications — updates on progress and reminders for running challenges.
  • Birthday Reminder — a notification for choir members' birthdays, at a time of your choosing.
Answer an appointment straight from the notification

With an appointment reminder you can tap accept, decline or unsure right in the alert — your response lands in cori immediately, without you having to open the app.

What else cori pushes

As long as the main switch is on, you'll also automatically get alerts about things happening in your choirs — there's no separate switch for these:

  • new messages in your chats
  • new or newly released songs
  • appointments created, changed or cancelled

For new messages and individual chats you can get some peace and quiet by muting the chat in question — that's described under Group chats.

Nothing arriving?

Check these in order:

  1. Is the main switch on in SettingsNotifications?
  2. Are alerts for cori allowed in your phone's system settings?
  3. Is the individual type (e.g. appointment reminders) switched on below it?

If it stays quiet, it often helps to close the app completely and reopen it.
