Location and map on appointments

Add a rehearsal location to the map so everyone can find it and start directions with a single tap.

Web + app

An appointment is far more useful when everyone knows where it takes place. In cori you can add a location on the map to any appointment — members then see a map preview with the address and can start navigation there with a single tap. This guide shows you how to set a location and how it reaches your members.

Who sets the location?

The location is set by whoever creates or edits the appointment: the choir director and admins. It works the same on the web and in the mobile app. After that, every member can view the location and use it for navigation.

Set a location

1
Open the appointment and expand “Location”

Open the appointment form — when creating one or via editing — and expand the Location section. A map appears.

2
Search for an address or drop a pin

Type the address or the name of the venue into the search field and pick the matching result. The map jumps there and drops the pin. Alternatively, drop the pin yourself by tapping directly on the map.

3
Save

Save the appointment. The location is now stored.

How members experience the location

Anyone who opens the appointment sees a small map preview with a pin and, below it, the address derived from the coordinates. Using the navigation button on the map, cori opens the device's maps app with the route to the venue — Apple Maps on iPhone, Google Maps otherwise.

A location for a whole series

For a series, the location applies to every appointment in the series. If a single rehearsal takes place somewhere else for once, detach that one appointment and give it its own location — see Changing a single appointment in a series.
