Changing a single appointment in a series

Move or adjust one rehearsal without touching the whole series — and what happens to the responses along the way.

Web + app

Sometimes a single rehearsal falls out of rhythm: it starts earlier just this once, takes place somewhere else or gets pushed back a day. You don't have to rearrange the whole series for that — cori can pull exactly one appointment out of the row and edit it separately. This guide shows how that works and what happens to responses that have already been recorded.

Prerequisite

This only applies to appointments that belong to a series. They can be changed by whoever manages the calendar — the choir leadership and admins. The process is the same on the web and in the mobile app.

Pulling out a single appointment

1
Open the appointment in question

In the Calendar, open exactly the occurrence you want to change — that is, the appointment on its specific date, not just any other one from the row.

2
Edit

Open the appointment for editing and make your change: a new time, a different date, a different location, an adjusted description — whatever differs for this one appointment.

3
Choose “Only this event”

When saving, cori asks what your change refers to. Choose Only this event. cori pulls this appointment out of the series and leaves all the others untouched.

4
Save

Confirm with Save. The extracted appointment now stands on its own in the calendar; the series carries on as normal on its other days.

What happens in the process

The changed appointment becomes a standalone single appointment. A gap appears in the series on that day — cori skips the original slot so the appointment doesn't show up twice. The rhythm of the series itself stays untouched.

What happens to the responses

By default, the responses already recorded for this appointment move across to the extracted single appointment — nobody has to answer again. Only if you switch on Reset attendance in the confirmation dialog does the appointment start out with no responses and everyone gets asked afresh.

Changing the whole series instead of just one appointment

If you want to do the opposite and adjust all the appointments at once — for example to make the rehearsal start half an hour earlier from now on — choose All events when saving. Your change then applies to the entire row. More on that under Creating recurring appointments.

Getting rid of an extracted appointment again

An extracted appointment is independent from now on: you edit or delete it like any other single appointment, without touching the series. There's no dedicated button that pushes it back into the row — if you delete the single appointment, the slot in the series stays empty. If you want the regular appointment to take place on that day again, simply move the single appointment back to the original date and time.

Cancel rather than delete

If a rehearsal is called off entirely on a given day, don't delete it — cancel it. That way it stays visible in the calendar with a note and everyone gets informed. How to do that is described under Cancelling an appointment.
