Appointment types: rehearsal, performance, event, other
What the four appointment types are for, how they show up in the calendar — and why an appointment's colour shows your response, not its type.

When you create an appointment, you pick an appointment type. It categorises the appointment and can be used for filtering. cori offers four types — plus birthdays, which cori adds by itself. This guide explains what each type is meant for and how it appears in the calendar.
The type is set by whoever creates the appointment: the choir director and admins. The choice is available on the web (as chips in the appointment form) and in the mobile app (as a select field) alike.
The four appointment types
- Rehearsal — your regular choir rehearsal. The default type for new appointments.
- Performance — concerts and public appearances. A performance is shown with a little extra emphasis in the calendar so it stands out among the rehearsals.
- Event — other occasions around the choir, such as a choir trip or a party.
- Other — anything that doesn't fit any of the other types.
The type is mainly a way of categorising — it changes nothing about an appointment's location, attendance or recurrence. It does affect the wording of the notification, though: a new performance is announced to members as "New performance", an event as "New event", and rehearsals and other as "New appointment".
A common misunderstanding: the coloured marker on an appointment does not stand for the appointment type but for your own attendance response. Green means "you're attending", red means "you're not attending" or the appointment has been cancelled, grey means "no response yet". You can tell the appointment type from its text label, not from the colour.
Filter by type
You can narrow the calendar down to individual types — showing only performances, for example. On both platforms there are filter chips above the calendar or the appointment list for this. Read more under Filtering appointments.
Birthdays
cori automatically shows your choir members' birthdays in the calendar — as their own appointment type, "Birthday". You don't create these entries yourself: cori works them out from the date of birth members have added to their profile. Anyone without a date of birth simply doesn't appear. Birthdays have no attendance and can't be edited or cancelled.
Birthdays don't appear in the calendar in the web app.
