Share files with a link
Create a share link to a file or folder — even for people without a cori account.
Web + app
Sometimes someone outside the choir needs a file — the conductor of a guest choir, the print shop, a board member without a cori account. That's what the share link is for: an address you can pass on that opens in any browser, with no sign-in at all.
Only the choir leadership and admins can create and revoke share links.
Create a share link
In the Drive, open the three-dot menu on the file or folder and choose Share link.
Under Expires in, set how long the link should work: “1 day”, “7 days” or “30 days”. After that the link stops working automatically.
Confirm with Create share link. cori shows you the address.
Who can use the link
Anyone who has the link can open it — no cori account needed. For a file, the download starts right away. For a folder, they see the files that sit directly in that folder; subfolders are not shared along with it.
The share link makes the file accessible to everyone who knows it — whether or not it is set to “Admins only” in the Drive. Only share it with people who are genuinely allowed to see the content, and when in doubt pick a short expiry.
Revoke a link
As long as the sharing dialog is still open after you created the link, you can invalidate it immediately with Revoke link. Access then ends within about two minutes.
cori doesn't keep a list of the links you've already created. Once you've closed the dialog, a link can no longer be revoked from inside the app — it stays valid until the expiry date you chose. So: choose the expiry deliberately, and if you decide you don't need a link after all, revoke it right away while you're creating it. Get in touch with support if a still-valid link urgently needs to be blocked.
Link or internal sharing?
- For people in the choir you don't need a link — they see shared files in the Drive anyway. Use visibility to control who sees what.
- For people outside the choir the share link is the right way to go.
What's next?
- Control access inside the choir: Visibility of files and folders
- Add content: Uploading files
- Tidy up: Moving and renaming files
